Hoka has been one of the footwear industry's leaders in max-cushion and max-comfort athletic shoes in recent years. Not only do they make running shoes, they make amazingly supportive walking shoes and really fun, technical hiking shoes. We're here to help you understand the styles a little more and get you into what is (hopefully) the best fit for your feet.
Hoka's Walking Styles
Bondi 9 (Available in Widths)
The Bondi 9 is new in 2025 and is one of our favorite walking shoes this year. It's a neutral shoe with tons of supportive cushion and a smooth rocker sole that keeps you moving. It's a no-brainer for someone needing a comfortable every day walking shoe. Plus, we love the light colors with casual outfits making them versatile in your wardrobe.
Gaviota 5 (Available in Widths)
The Gaviota 5 is a superb option for anyone needing a stable walking shoe. This style has a stabilizing H-Frame to keep you supported when you're on the go. Super soft cushion AND a wonderfully wide toe-box? We love to hear it!
Bondi SR (Available in Widths)
The Bondi SR (Slip-Resistant) is Hoka's work shoe. It has a certified non-slip outsole and gives you the max-cushion/comfort you need for working all day on hard floors. This one is really made with the service and medical industry in mind. Thanks Hoka!
Hoka Walk/Hike
Stinson 7
The Stinson 7 is our pick for a max-cushion, all-terrain shoe. Hoka calls this one their "Swiss army knife" and we couldn't agree more. With a responsive cushion, grippy all-terrain tread, and a stabilizing H-frame-- you can't go wrong.
Transport (Available in Widths & Waterproof)
Next in the trail lineup is one of the best-selling styles we've seen from Hoka in recent years. The Transport is a do-it-all lifestyle and walking shoe that you NEED in your lineup. It's sleek and streamlined, making it a favorite for people who don't love how thick some of the other Hoka styles are. What we love is that it's water-resistant (waterproof option offered), plus they have a Vibram outsole that is grippy on all types of terrain.
Anacapa Freedom
Have you ever wished you could just slip into your Hokas with little effort? Well, now you can! The Anacapa Freedom from Hoka has a "slip-in" heel that acts as a built-in shoe horn, helping your foot slide right in with minimal effort. Plus, it has a grippy Vibram outsole that's perfect for the trails.
Kaha 3 GTX Low & Mid
The newest addition to the trail family is the Kaha 3 Low and Mid. This is an upgrade to the previous Kaha style in every way! We love how this hiker fits and that it's waterproof with a Gortex lining and leather uppers. This is the perfect shoe for winter, summer, hunting season and those hikes that get a little gnarly.
Hoka Recovery
Restore TC
Created using minimal materials with maximum comfort in mind, the Restore TC is the perfect shoe for your tired feet after activities. It's a recovery shoe, which means it's here to help with just that-- recovery. It's barefoot friendly, with a sock-like upper material and a cushioned lining. It's also great as a cozy lifestyle option.
